Student Visa:

Foreigners who wish to study in Japan will be required to apply for a student visa which is valid for one year. Applying for a student visa is similar to the working visa application process, as applicants will be required to obtain sponsorship from a university who in turn will supply them with a certificate of eligibility. Students are not permitted to work while in Japan unless granted permission from immigration and the university they are attending, and are allowed to work only a set maximum number of hours per week.
